Furnace replacement and upgrades…

August 22nd, 2009

With the Federal Tax Credit you can receive 30% of the cost for a replacement furnace if it meets the Federal criteria of an efficiency of 95% or better. The price for upgrading from a 92% to a 95% is typically around $500-$600. This tax credit ($600-$900) along with the energy savings ($30/month from a 95% with ECM motor over a 92% efficient furnace ) will more than pay for the upgrading costs.
